The Wiltwyck, Kingston
This was one of my very first design projects—part of the Kingston Design Showhouse—and the goal was to create a space that felt memorable and unexpected for the Bed & Breakfast’s guests. Every element was reused or repurposed, from the stainless steel shelving and sink to the vintage furniture and decor. A deep teal was used to accentuate the exposed brick and complement the textures and tones of the surrounding pieces. I collaborated with local artists and makers, including a ceramist for the dishware, a millworker for custom cutting boards, and an artist who hand-drew chalk flames in the fireplace. A mallet installation added a bold, sculptural touch, while vintage frames were flipped to reveal their often-overlooked backs—bringing an inventive twist to traditional decor. Playful details like googly-eyed art and dinosaur collages layered onto landscape paintings gave the space a lighthearted, one-of-a-kind spirit.
