Our goal is to offer a hands-on workshop that will give you the confidence to rewire your own vintage finds or sentimental pieces. 

What You'll Learn:

Safety First: Learn crucial safety measures when working with electricity, ensuring a secure and confident approach to lamp repair.

Mastering Wire Stripping Tools: Gain hands-on experience in effectively using wire stripping tools, a key skill for any DIY enthusiast.

Lamp Anatomy: Disassemble lamps provided in class to understand how each piece fits together. Explore the various parts and techniques essential for lamp rewiring and repair.

Hands-On Rewiring: Apply your newfound knowledge by rewiring a lamp in class with hands on instruction.

Bring Your Own Lamp or Work on Restored Finds: Feel free to bring your own lamp in need of rewiring, or choose from a selection provided by the Habitat for Humanity Restore. Restore lamps will be available for purchase if desired.

Lamp Requirements: The piece you bring must be approved in advance. Submit a photo (top, side, and bottom) of your project to workshops@brookelane.com for approval. This allows our restoration specialist to offer personalized advice and ensure the project is suitable for the clinic.

Please bring: Smaller gage Flathead and Phillips screwdrivers, needle nose pliers, eye protection, and wire stripper if possible, otherwise tools will be available to share.
